Hide and seek

Caterpillars and ladybugs are hiding in the garden. Help Pip find them all.

How to play

The list above the garden shows who is hiding: caterpillars two to four squares long, and ladybugs that take one square.
The numbers count the hidden squares in each row and column.
Caterpillars lie straight, across or up and down. Hiders never touch, not even at the corners.
Some pieces are shown at the start, on a leaf. A caterpillar end shows which way its body goes.
A hider where nobody hides costs a heart. You have three.
Find everyone with every heart and no hints for three stars. A hint or two caps the garden at two stars, and lots of hints at one.
Relaxed mode in the settings has no hearts: it only shows when hiders break a rule.

Tap a square to lay grass where nobody hides. Drag to lay grass on several.
Double tap, or press and hold, to find a hider. Or pick the find tool and tap.
With a keyboard, use the arrow keys to move, Space to lay grass, Enter to find a hider and Backspace to clear.
Undo takes back your last move. Hint shows the next step, and why.

A row or column with a 0 is all grass. So is a line that already has all its hiders.
The squares at the corners of a hider are always grass.
Look for the longest caterpillar first: it only fits in a few places.
